Russel Orhii is a two-time IPF World Champion and five-time USAPL Raw National Champion. He has competed in both the IPF and USAPL over the course of his career. For world records to be official, they must come in a sanctioned competition by the organization. Despite many unofficial record lifts, Orhii has been able to break others during his career.
Over the weekend, Orhii turned in one of his best performances during an official competition.
Orhii won the 2021 IPF World Championship in the 83kg category and currently holds the squat and total world record. In 2021, he set some new PRs in competition and will continue to build upon these numbers. This includes a 323kg (712.1lb) squat and 843kg (1,858lb) total during the 2021 USAPL Raw Nationals. During the 2021 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships, Orhii completed a 333kg (734.1lb) deadlift. His bench press competition PR came back in 2019 with a 195kg (429.9lb) lift.
In 2022, Orhii took a short hiatus from powerlifting and set a goal to compete in bodybuilding as well. He is a competitor that boasts both incredible strength with an impressive physique as well. It is clear that he has been training to focus on powerlifting and took a step up in division where he was still able to reach new heights.
