THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE REASON MONDAY NEEDS TO BE LEG DAY

monday leg day headerThe undisputed leg day of the world!

Monday is Leg day. It doesn’t matter if you train on that day or not, it’s leg day. Now Monday’s are different for different people. If you do shift work, Monday maybe on a Wednesday at 9 o’clock at night. If you’re a soldier, Monday may be a couple days after deployment. The point is, Monday is the day after you’ve received an significant amount of rest, when your body’s at its freshest.

The reason why Monday is leg day is simple. It’s your biggest muscle group and provides the foundation for all your other muscle groups. If you train the smaller muscles first you’ll make them weaker, taking away from the larger muscle groups, which require more strength. When you train legs first, you will still have the strength to train the smaller muscles and not take anything from your gains. To take it even further your body’s at it’s freshest after a significant amount of rest. It doesn’t take a genius to realize that when you train at your freshest you get the most out of it. Biggest muscle group on your best day? Yeah, I’ll take it.

Another reason why leg day is Monday, is because you’re itching to get back in the gym. When you’re highly motivated, mentally sharp, and amped to get back in there your mind, body, and focus are one. This will provide for a varied, concentrated workout which will lead to less injuries since you’re fully present and not physically fatigued. It’s always good to go with the flow, so instead of swimming upstream on a Friday, sail with the current on a Monday.

Be the pro, not the amateur. The amateur flocks to the Bench press and the barbell rack on a Monday. They think bicep curls in the mirror is where it’s at. The pro knows that training your largest muscle group first is a must, so you’ll be in good company at the squat rack, laughing at all the other schmoes waiting in line for the peck deck. They say it’s lonely at the top, apparently it’s also true for the squat rack.

Change your leg day to Monday and you can thank us later. More gains and a stronger base makes for a complete bodybuilder.
