Colt Wynn’s Bodybuilding Career

In 1999, Wynn suffered a back injury when he fell from a 14-foot platform while deer hunting near his home. This accident left Wynn paralyzed after suffering a broken back. He lost nearly 40 pounds while in the hospital recovering from this injury. Wynn did not let this impact his love for fitness.

Colt Wynn returned to the gym with an initial thought on competing in powerlifting. He competed in one event and was victorious in the 61kg weight class before taking on bodybuilding. Within three years of his fall, Wynn would take the stage in a bodybuilding competition.

Wynn won the 2002 NPC Wheelchair Nationals in the middleweight division. He would return to the competition four times over the next five years and defended his title successfully each time. In 2007, Wynn won the IFBB Pro Wheelchair Nationals, earning his Pro Card.

Colt Wynn had an incredible career on stage but also wanted to make a difference off of it. He was a beloved personal trainer and also worked as a motivational speaker, touring the United States and Canada.
