Set new times for your rest period
Another way to jump start your gains is by switching up your rest periods. Maybe you take five minutes off between sets, maybe you take two. The point is your should try shortening that period to jump start potential growth. Resting for five minutes could be a bit too long. Why not opt for two minutes or a bit lower to get a higher intensity workout and push past that nagging plateau.
