Battle of the World’s Strongest?! Will Eddie Hall Fight Hafthor Bjornsson?

Eddie Hall vs Hafthor Bjornsson in a boxing match?!

In the world of strength competitions performance is king. Whether it’s a powerlifter smashing through the three classic exercises of the bench press, deadlift, and squat or the bodybuilder stepping on stage and presenting the hard work he’s put in at the gym for the whole world to see, performance is the key to securing victory.

For strongman competitions the road to victory is rather simple. Much like powerlifting, it’s all about proving you’re the overall strongest in a collective of different courses. If you can overcome the odds and demolish every category in the competition then you’ll be sure to be crowned the World’s Strongest Man.

But in a way, like most sporting events, all of these competitions essentially amount to a simulation of battle. Even the title of World’s Strongest Man lends itself to the credo that this human on this given day can not be toppled by the competition, which can easily translate to cannot be defeated.

Which begs the question: who would win in an actual fight?

It seems that former World Strongest Man champions Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson are keen to find out.

2017 World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall is an avid fan of boxing and trains in the sweet science to keep in shape. After having a bit of a feud with Hafthor Bjornsson in the past, the question has been posed whether or not Eddie Hall could best the 2018 World’s Strongest Man in a war of fists. Of course Eddie Hall answered with an unequivocal yes igniting rumors that the two strongman veterans could meet inside a boxing ring in the future.

“If you were to arrange a boxing match between me and Thor,” said Eddie Hall, “I can tell you this, I would train for it, I would train my hardest for it and I’d knock his head off.”

Not to be outdone, Hafthor Bjornsson has now gone on record himself about a potential fight with Eddie Hall and from the sounds of things this match could very well happen in the near future.

“A fan asked him [Eddie Hall] if he thought that he could beat me up in a boxing match and in his opinion, he thinks he can do it,” said Hafthor Bjornsson before breaking into laughter. “Bro, have you seen your size? Do you really think you can fight a guy my size?”

Sounds like fighting words.

With so many celebrity match ups occurring these days it wouldn’t come as a shock if these two strongman veterans locked horns to prove who the better fighter is.
