Rowan O’Malley is one of the world’s biggest phenoms in powerlifting at his age.
Rowan O’Malley has built a reputation as the “World’s Strongest Schoolboy” at 10 years old. He is a world-record holder for his age and has great determination to continue moving forward. O’Malley recently discussed his training habits and shared that he eats a 3,000-calorie diet on a daily basis.
O’Malley has been training for awhile now, despite his young age. In just a few years, he plans to compete as a powerlifter in the UK and use his strength on stage. At 10 years old, O’Malley has already reached great lengths with the three primary lifts. He holds a deadlift of 281 pounds, squat of 220 pounds, and can bench press 126.7 pounds.
O’Malley was recently featured on ITV’s This Morning to discuss his lifestyle and prowess as a powerlifter at a young age.
“I started with no weights, just the techniques so I could know what I was doing first. I deadlifted the world record for a 10-year-old and I was nine. And that’s when it first started to get a bit serious.”
Rowan O’Malley is able to lift twice his bodyweight and this has allowed him to earn many records in powerlifting.

Rowan O’Malley Talks Powerlifting At 10 Years Old
On Instagram, a post was shared explaining Rowan’s plan moving forward. He plans to get back to normal training and eventually compete in the USAPL Youth Nationals next year. He has his eye on world records for 11 year old lifters.
“Rowan is enjoying his moment in the limelight. He deserves it, but we are aware it’s a brief moment in time, so he’s making the most of it before we get back to a more familiar routine.”

O’Malley has gone viral for his insane strength and lifts and that has been the plan on social media.
“Over the next year, we are going to use his social media to demonstrate how to train a juvenile in an intelligent way, gradually over a long period of time, to then peak absolute strength this time next year. Absolute strength is a consequence of all the other stuff we do but not something we test frequently.”
Powerlifting is a sport that can be done at any age. We have seen many lifters continue to compete into their 70s while O’Malley is showing that even young lifters have what it takes to be known around the world.
