Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White put on significant muscle for this role and it shows.

It takes great time and effort of actors to prepare for certain roles that they will play. Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White can tell you that from preparing to play two wrestling brothers in The Iron Claw. Both put on significant muscle mass and look jacked as the movie released its first trailer on Wednesday.

Efron became known as a heartthrob at a young age in High School Musical and continued to work on his physique for the big screen. He has shown off his shredded build in many movies such as Baywatch where he starred alongside The Rock, and Dirty Grandpa. To prepare for this role, Efron bulked up significantly and showed off his new mass in the trailer.

White burst not the scene as Lip Gallagher in Shameless. He continued to gain momentum as he played chef Carmy Berzaton in FX’s The Bear. Now, White will be alongside Efron as the two take part in a movie about a family inside professional wrestling. To prepare for the part, White told GQ that he timed to put on 40 pounds of muscle.

Jeremy Allen White told GQ during their exclusive that Zac Efron sent him a note after nailing down the part. It said for the actor to get into top shape and by the looks of it, both have done just that.

Zac Efron is preparing to play the role of World Heavyweight Champion Kevin Von Erich. For this part, he had to put on serious muscle mass and this is not the first time that he had to undergo a significant transformation. When preparing for Baywatch, Efron cut down in a major way but did not describe the process as a positive one, saying that cutting down the water was too much.

“That Baywatch look, I don’t know if that’s really attainable. There’s just too little water in the skin. Like, it’s fake. It looks CGI’d and that required Lasix, powerful diuretics to achieve. So, I don’t need to do that. I much prefer to have an extra, you know, 2 to 3 percent body fat,” Efron told Men’s Health.

Over the summer, Jeremy Allen White spoke with Esquire about what it took to achieve his physique for this role and highlighted the diet plan.

“Eating all the time. Like, never stopping. In the morning, I would have waffles, almond butter. In the middle of they, I was eating turkey patties and avocado all the time.”

White continued to discuss how Efron played a role in his transformation.

“Zac’s a maniac. He’s so focused and knowledgable on training, diet, all that. In terms of a physical transformation, I think he kind of blew us all out of the water. He looks really amazing in this.”

The trailer for The Iron Claw was released on Wednesday and shows the insane physique transformation of all characters involved. It took some serious work and dedication for both Efron and White to build physiques that will impress on the big screen.
