Highlights from the 2023 Olympia Wellness prejudging.
The Wellness division is making its third appearance on the biggest stage during the 2023 Olympia and has proven that it is here to stay. The prejudging round took place on Friday morning and the division got to take the stage for the first time before the finals at night.
Since Wellness became an annual event at the Olympia, there has been a leader at the top. Francielle Mattos has won back-to-back titles and is looking to complete the three-peat. Four of the top five finishers from last season returned to competition this year and were featured in the first callout.
Mattos and Isabelle Nunes, who finished as the runner-up last year, spent a majority of the time centerstage. Rayane Fogal and Kassandra Gillis also made a statement to return to the top of the scorecard. The first callout featured eight bodybuilders that were put through posing sessions and judges began to dwindle down from there.
The size of the division allowed it to go seven callouts but in the end, it was the presumed top two of Mattos and Nunes. Judges brought much of the first callout back out together during the sixth but the final consisted of just two.
