2025 Masters Olympia Date, Location & Qualification Criteria Announced

The Masters Olympia will return in 2025 in Tokyo from Aug. 22-23.

The Masters Olympia will be making its return in 2025. On Tuesday morning, the competition shared an announcement laying out the date, location, and qualification criteria for the event. The competition will take place from Aug. 22-23 in Tokyo.

Robby Robinson won the first ever Masters Olympia competition back in 1994. Vince Taylor holds the record with six victories, which occurred consecutively from 1996-2001. There was a hiatus following the 2003 competition before Dexter Jackson took home the title in 2012.

The Masters Olympia competition officially made its return in 2023. The event was held at the BT Arena in Cluj Napoca, Romaniawhere all 10 divisions in bodybuilding were present to compete. Kamal Elgargni highlighted the event with a victory in Men’s Open. The event was not part of the IFBB Pro League schedule this year but will make its return in August 2025.

2024 Masters Olympia Qualification Requirements

  • Age: 40+
  • Top 5 from all divisions at 2023 Masters Olympia
  • Winner of all IFBB Masters Pro 40+ between Aug. 28, 2023 to Aug. 17, 2025
  • Other athletes will be selected based on applications in four divisions (Open Bodybuilding, 212, Women’s Bodybuilding, Fitness)

Competitors can begin sending in applications on Feb. 1, 2025. The deadline will be April 30, 2025 and will need to feature information such as age, country, titles, competition history, and all social media accounts.
