2026 Tampa Pro Preview: Nick Walker Headlines Men’s Open as James Hollingshead Looks to Continue Momentum

The 2026 Tampa Pro is set to serve as one of the final major bodybuilding contests before the Mr. Olympia, giving fans one last opportunity to see many of the sport’s top competitors on stage before the biggest weekend of the year. Nick Walker will headline the Men’s Open division, after debating a full break from competing this season. Walker enters the show as the clear favorite and will look to build momentum toward Mr. Olympia.

While Walker commands most of the attention, the Tampa Pro is anything but a one-man show. James Hollingshead arrives fresh off a controversial runner-up finish at the Huanji China Pro, while several established veterans and rising contenders will be looking to make a statement. The event also features a competitive 212 Bodybuilding division, with valuable Olympia qualification points and bragging rights on the line.

Nick Walker Headlines the Men’s Open Division

All eyes will be on Nick Walker when he takes the stage in Tampa.

One of bodybuilding’s biggest stars, Walker enters the contest as the overwhelming favorite and is expected to use the event as one of his final competitive appearances before the 2026 Mr. Olympia. Every showing this close to the Olympia carries added significance, giving fans and judges another opportunity to evaluate his conditioning, fullness, and overall improvements before bodybuilding’s biggest weekend.

Walker has consistently positioned himself among the world’s elite competitors, and Tampa offers another chance to reinforce that status. While the primary goal remains peaking for the Olympia, a dominant victory would only add to the momentum surrounding his season.

With just weeks remaining until Las Vegas, fans will be paying close attention to every pose. Questions surrounding his conditioning, waist control, and overall presentation will likely generate as much discussion as the final placings themselves.

James Hollingshead Leads a Dangerous Group of Challengers

If anyone enters Tampa with momentum, it’s James Hollingshead.

The British standout is coming off arguably the best performance of his career after finishing second to Behrooz Tabani at the Huanji China Pro. The result sparked significant debate throughout the bodybuilding community, with many believing Hollingshead had done enough to earn the victory after showcasing dramatic improvements in conditioning, shape, and overall balance.

Regardless of where fans stood on the scorecards, Hollingshead left China looking like one of the most improved bodybuilders in the world, immediately making him one of the biggest threats in Tampa.

Several other competitors could also contend for top placings, including Charles Griffin, Patrick Moore, Joe Palacios, Tim Budesheim, Kennedy Anyanwu, and an experienced field of professionals hoping to strengthen their Olympia resumes before the season reaches its climax.

212 Division Carries Major Olympia Implications

The 212 Bodybuilding division should provide another entertaining battle in Tampa.

With Olympia qualification opportunities becoming increasingly limited, every comparison on stage carries added importance.

The 212 division also features several athletes capable of making noise, including former Tampa Pro winner Fabricio Moreira, Mohamed Embaby, and rising contender Felipe Moraes. With a competitive field and Olympia qualification on the line, expect another closely contested battle in one of bodybuilding’s deepest divisions.

One of the Biggest Shows Before Olympia

The Tampa Pro has long served as one of the premier stops on the IFBB Pro League calendar, and this year’s event may be the most anticipated edition in recent memory.

Nick Walker remains the story heading into the weekend, but James Hollingshead’s recent resurgence and a deep supporting cast ensure the Men’s Open competition won’t simply be a coronation. Add in a meaningful 212 showdown, and the Tampa Pro has all the ingredients to become one of the final must-watch events before the 2026 Mr. Olympia.
