The insanely dangerous stunt that caught the eyes of many

@dailymail

Bodybuilder Preslie Ginoski, 23, who climbed into a plane engine to do push-ups on the tarmac of Sydney Airport has defended his ‘dangerous’ stunt. Ginoski reportedly filmed the video last year but uploaded the clip to socials at the weekend, sparking a furious response from the airport. ‘Sydney Airport has zero tolerance for unsafe behaviour on the airfield, and we take all reports of potential safety breaches extremely seriously,’ a spokeswoman said. But, Mr Ginoski told Daily Mail Australia the viral clip has been taken too seriously, claiming it had not taken place near passengers or running aircraft. Preslie Ginoski, a 23-year-old fitness influencer, sparked outrage after posting a video of himself climbing into a jet engine at Sydney Airport, casually doing push-ups and flexing his muscles. Joking that he was getting in a “quick pump before flight,” he seemed completely unfazed by the aircraft’s massive propellers spinning behind him.

Though the stunt was filmed last year, it only recently surfaced on social media, quickly drawing backlash from both the public and airport authorities.

A spokesperson for Sydney Airport condemned the reckless act, telling Daily Mail Australia, “Safety on the airfield is our top priority, and we have zero tolerance for behavior that puts people at risk.”

Despite the criticism, Ginoski brushed off concerns, insisting the situation was far less dangerous than people assumed.

“I just wanted to entertain people,” he said. “It’s like stepping off a plane and deciding to get a workout in.”

He claimed the aircraft wasn’t in operation and that the propellers were only moving due to the wind. “People don’t realize it’s actually pretty common to sit inside a jet engine once it’s been cleared as safe,” he added.

However, aviation experts and social media users weren’t convinced. Jet engines generate immense suction when running, capable of pulling in anything—or anyone—within a few meters.

Ginoski, who no longer works at the airport, shared the video on TikTok, where it quickly racked up over two million views before being taken down for violating platform guidelines.

Commenters expressed shock at both the stunt and the apparent security lapse that allowed it to happen.

“That engine could have turned him into mince meat in seconds,” one person wrote.

Another questioned, “How does someone even get access to do something this reckless?”

The controversy comes amid a growing trend of dangerous stunts for social media clout, including a separate case where an influencer suffered severe burns attempting an ill-advised tanning bed “hack.”
