Brian Shaw addressed some major points of emphasis for the 2025 Strongest Man on Earth competition!
We have known the official date and location for the 2025 Strongest Man on Earth for awhile now. Recently, Brian Shaw shared some new information regarding the qualifying criteria and who has received the first set of special invitations.
The competition is scheduled to take place from Aug. 16-17 in Loveland, Colorado. Shaw wants this to be one of the most difficult shows of the year and to know who is right, he will focus on the year prior.
“My opinion is that the best indicator of who will perform the best at the Strongest Man on Earth is who performs well at the Strongest Man on Earth so we are going to automatically take the top five competitors from 2024.”
Along with the previous SMOE competition, Shaw will also look at other competitions from the year.
Brian Shaw Shares 2025 Strongest Man on Earth Criteria
Shaw highlighted the three premiere shows of the year as an indicator to pick who should qualify for the SMOE in 2025.
“We are going to take the top three from the Rogue Invitational, Arnold Strongman Classic, and World’s Strongest Man.”
Shaw revealed that the winner of the North America’s Strongest Man from 2024 will also qualify. The final spot will go to the winner of the Shaw Classic’s Open Men’s Division.
First 2025 Strongest Man On Earth Invitations
Brian Shaw sent out the first eight invitations for the show and shared the names who received one. There are still eight remaining but the final decisions have not been made:
- Austin Andrade
- Hafthor Bjornsson
- Maxime Boudreault
- Lucas Hatton
- Mitchell Hooper
- Trey Mitchell
- Josh Spurgeon
- Tom Stoltman
Brian Shaw acknowledged that there will be carryover in positions where some of the world’s best will finish near the top of multiple shows.
“There is a carryover where certain names are going to fill spots more than once. It will be looking at performances across the board in all of the big strongman contests.”
