Carlos Thomas Jr. Will Not Make Pro Debut At New York Pro Due To Health Concerns

New York Pro

Carlos Thomas Jr. has been dealing with severe issues with his ulcerative colitis.

Carlos Thomas Jr. is one of the brightest up-and-comers in bodybuilding today. After earning his Pro Card back in 2021, Thomas Jr. has been waiting to make his pro debut. Scheduled to make an appearance at the New York Pro, he announced that he will have to cancel due to severe issues with his ulcerative colitis.

The Men’s Open division has seen some insane newcomers hit the stage in recent years. Nick Walker is one of the top competitors in the world after just three years while the likes of Andrew Jacked and Michal Krizo wait in the wings. Thomas Jr. could be next on that list but fans will have to wait a little longer for his pro debut.

Thomas Jr. was victorious during the 2021 NPC National Championships. He earned his Pro Card after winning the overall title. During the competition, he admitted that he weighed 220 pounds the day of the show. This means Thomas Jr. could have competed in any category but chose to show off his physique in super heavyweight.

The Men’s Open competitor will hopefully take the stage soon and show what he can do against some of the best in the world.

Carlos Thomas Jr.: “I’m Optimistic About The Future”

The New York Pro will take place in just two weeks at the Marriott at Glenpointe in Teaneck, New Jersey. On Monday, Carlos Thomas Jr. shared a post to Instagram that explained his reasons for missing.

“I wanted to take a moment to address the fact that I won’t be participating in the upcoming New York Pro show. Unfortunately, I’ve been dealing with some severe issues related to my ulcerative colitis that has made it impossible for my body to respond in the way that I need it to in order to compete.”

Carlos Thomas Jr. still plans to attend the New York Pro but will be there as a spectator and supporter.

Despite missing the big event, Thomas Jr. has remained positive about the future and believes that he will step on stage real soon. There is no confirmed date but the bodybuilder continues to search for potential times.

“As disappointed as I am that I won’t be able to show off all the hard work I’ve put in, I’m optimistic about the future. I’m taking the time to focus on my health and well-being, and I’m confident that with the treatment plan we have in place, I’m heading in the right direction, and I’m feeling much better!

I’m already looking forward to a later show date, and I can’t wait to step on that stage and show the world what I’m capable of. In the meantime, I’m going to keep working hard, staying positive, and taking care of myself.”
