Chris Bumstead is not feeling the pressure from other competitors as he battles for his sixth consecutive title.
Chris Bumstead has been at the top of the Classic Physique division for years now. He enters the weekend as the reigning five-time champion and one of the biggest stars in the sport. During the 2024 Olympia Press Conference on Thursday, Bumstead spoke on if he feels any pressure from other competitors in a growing division.
“I truly don’t believe anyone is a threat right now.”
Bumstead first won the 2019 Olympia title in Classic Physique and has not relinquished it since. He will be going for six in a row come October and will be the favorite once again. During the 2022 competition, Bumstead was challenged by Ramon Rocha Queiroz but still seemed to be in a league of his own — and he did it with a bicep injury.
Bumstead has dealt with different challenges over the year but has leaned on the support of his family, which he also spoke about during the press conference. This has helped him create another championship physique and bring immense confidence to the stage.
Chris Bumstead Not Threatened In 2024
Chris Bumstead will be challenged this year by the likes of Ramon Dino, who has finished as the runner-up multiple times, and Arnold Classic champ Wesley Vissers. Despite the growing talent in the division, Bumstead remains at the top.
“I hear them all saying they’re going to win but when I look them all in the eye, I Don’t believe they believe themselves when they say that. So, I’m not going to believe it myself.”

Bob Cicherillo then jokingly asked about the reward given to another competitor if Bumstead were to lose.
“They can have whatever the hell they want.”
Will Chris Bumstead Compete In Men’s Open”
Each year, there is a question on whether or not Chris Bumstead will eventually make the jump to Open Bodybuilding. He has considered the idea in the past, claiming that he would do a show if it were close to the Olympia.
When asked about it on Thursday afternoon, Bumstead clarified that he is focused on the action this weekend.
“It’s funny because since 2020, I’ve been telling people when they ask how many I got left in me, I would say one more. I won last year, I got to put the work in to win again this year and that’s all I’m focusing on.”
