Eddie Hall might not be the World’s Strongest Man anymore officially, but he shows no signs of slowing down on his athletic triumphs.

If you watch the video above, Eddie Hall details his experiences with doing 100 sit-ups every day for 30 days. He said his motivation for doing so was to “get fit.”

“I’m gonna start dropping body weight and getting fit,” he says in the introduction of the video. “I’m gonna attempt 100 sit-ups, I don’t think I’ll get there, but it’s a building process.”

Strength Wars Movie

As a strongman and powerlifter, Eddie Hall understandably carries a massive amount of body weight around on a daily basis. In fact, one of the many things he’s famous for is his insane diet — he famously eats 8,000 calories a day and has repeatedly said he eats two full English breakfasts just to get started in the morning.

But with the recent beef with Hafthor Bjornsson still swirling, Eddie Hall has agreed to entering the boxing ring and box his sworn enemy. Boxing is a whole different game and he understandably has to lose a lot of weight in order to be nimble in the ring. That was just one of the many reasons he gave in the video for wanting to get into better shape.

“100 sit-ups every day, a little bit of boxing work, and then I’m gonna go for a bike ride,” he said of his plans for what his daily routine would look like leading up to the match.

“I am currently today 385 pounds…I’m gonna document this journey so you guys can see, I need to order some scales, I know I’ve put weight on on my travels…but I’m gonna document my trying 100 sit-ups.”

On the first day, he obviously fails to do 100 sit-ups straight in a row, especially after working out earlier in the morning. However, after breaking it down into sets of 40, he does manage to pull it off. What’s even more impressive is that as the video continues and his body gets adjusted to the hardcore workout he’s serving, he increases his ability to do many sit-ups in a row dramatically. Towards the end of the month, he manages 70 to 80 sit-ups in the row, by the looks of the video.

The results are dramatic. His core looks noticeably stronger and his abs are more defined. Thor Bjornsson has also posted updates from his training leading up to their bout, so it only makes sense that Eddie Hall would of course have a response video that was just as intense. Maybe the craziest takeaway of all is that Eddie Hall was able to lose just over 20 pounds in one month by focusing in on this one exercise. Even though his primary goal was to strengthen his core for boxing, he leaned up considerably and his overall physique was dramatically changed. It just goes to show you what a huge difference even a single exercise can make in your routine, if only you’re willing to put your mind to it and really challenge yourself.
