Gym Crush – Lauren Simpson

Gym Crush – Lauren Simpson

Lauren Simpson is an Australian fitness athlete who has grown in popularity because of her incredible physique. Simpson’s transformation from an underweight, anxious office worker to a chiseled Greek goddess is one of the best we’ve ever seen.

Lauren has over 1.8 million followers on Instagram and her photos are a treat to watch. Simpson is a transformation expert, and has, over the years, made a name for herself in the space.

Lauren Simpson – The Magician

Simpson participated in netball, touch football, athletics, and swimming in high school but she only discovered her passion for fitness after she turned 25. According to Lauren, “It is important to not expect rapid changes overnight. Good things take time. If you put in the work, you will see results.”

One of the secrets of her success is that she believes in breaking down her goals into smaller milestones. The adrenaline rush and happiness she gets from the quick and easy wins keep her going.

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Lauren was always very active as a child and enjoyed competitive sports. It’s no surprise that she ended up making fitness her career and competed in shows.

I have never been so grateful for my body than I am right now. I definitely don’t look like this currently (although this is just a new shoot pic from less than a week ago…crazy how life can change so quick)… – I am so thankful for the strength my body is showing daily to recover. This is a new kind of STRONG. I am now relying on my body to carry me through this big challenge ahead. ♥️ – Anyway I’m going to share as much of my journey as I can on my IG/stories and also my YouTube. – My content on social media is heavily skewed toward fitness so I apologise if I lack workout videos etc (please stick by me 🙏🏼)…however I’ll be sharing more of my real life, me getting back on track with fitness from the very beginning again, lot’s of nutritional content, me coaching my girls and just girly girl lifestyle me! 💁🏼‍♀️ – But I will be back to my normal self in due time…better than ever 👊🏼💞 – 📸 @rockybatchelor @clique_styling @dollfacebyas

After completing college at 20, she got her first job as an HR Coordinator in a financial advisory firm. Over the next four years, she started working out in the gym for a change of pace after being bored with her job.

Although she fell in love with working out, she didn’t know how to make the most of her training. Since she had no knowledge of training or nutrition, she was only doing cardio and eating around 1000 calories a day.

Hitting a Roadblock

Since Simpson didn’t have the right knowledge, she couldn’t reach her goal of sculpting her dream physique. Even with all the motivation and drive in the world, she was let down by her poor diet and lack of knowledge.

As we enter a new year it’s all about ‘new year, new me’. Studies have shown less than 25% actually stay committed to their resolutions after just 30 days, only 8% of people actually accomplish them. So here are a couple of things to help set you up for a good year: 👇🏼 – ⚡️Your goal for 2020 will not do the work for you. Unless you take action, your goals are simply dreams. – ⚡️Ditch the ‘all or nothing’ approach. It’s better to be 80% compliant every day while enjoying your food, training & life…than killing yourself for the 100% but then falling off track to 0% every couple days. – ⚡️You don’t have to suffer to get results. The more restrictive or deprived you are doesn’t mean you will be guaranteed better progress – often this leads to binges, falling way off track and an unhealthy relationship with food. – ⚡️Dont resort to extremes!!!! You don’t need to go on a DETOX, take skinny teas, do zero carbs, try starve yourself, do endless amounts of exercise, wear waist trainers. You want long term sustainable results. This is never the answer to achieving your goals. – ⚡️You will get hungry if you are dieting. It’s normal. This is just the downside of being in a calorie deficit and being further from your metabolic set point. Recognise the feeling & manage it. – ⚡️Understand that you will have bad days! No one is perfect!!! Yes you are likely to miss a workout, yes you may eat over your calories, yes you might go out for a friends birthday and have a few too many wines…it’s life. If you have a bad day, don’t let it turn into a bad week & then a bad month! Accept it and move on. – An all or nothing approach leaves you thinking that anything less than ‘perfect’ is failing. Good enough really is good enough. Something is better than nothing. – Any small effort is worthy of being recognised and proud of. The real key to success lies in consistency.♥️ – – Link in my bio for my next 8 week challenge. Lose fat & build muscle. Learn how to get sustainable results. @laurensimpson 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

She wasn’t eating enough to fuel her body and started suffering from anxiety after becoming underweight. Lauren took fitness to an unhealthy extreme – both mentally and physically.

Her life started getting back on track at the end of 2014 when she took her first steps towards recovery and began researching different training programs to help her overcome her issues.

How are you going with your New Year resolutions?⚡️👇🏼 We are almost at the end of January and for a lot of people you have already come off track with your New Year resolutions or given up completely. The truth is we all set out with good intentions – to lose weight, to eat better, to go to the gym 5 days a week – but then its forgotten about by mid Jan.😖 – Ditch the new year resolution mindset. If it didn’t go to plan – it’s time to get back on track and turn things around! – If you truly want to change your health, fitness and life you need to change your habits and embrace something that you really WANT – not are forcing upon yourself. – It all starts with the mindset of ‘I want to’ change NOT ‘I have to’ change…just because it was Jan 1 and you need to come up with something. That’s why resolutions fail! – This isn’t about a ‘diet’…but a lifestyle. If you build habits, develop the behaviours & make the way you ‘diet’ a way of life…your results will follow. Those results then will be sustained for the long term. 👏🏼👏🏼 – If you are ready to set yourself up for the most successful year yet – not just talk – but real action…… – My 8 week challenge starts Monday! I want to coach you girls to be your best yet. No more excuses. It’s your time! FINAL DAYS!👇🏼 – Click the link in my bio to start @laurensimpson 👑 – – 📸 @erikabencsphotography @clique_styling
