In May, Labrada shared that he was done competing during the 2025 season. He believes it was time to take his first break from bodybuilding since 2016 to get right both mentally and physically. Labrada believes that he is accomplishing his goals and the best version of himself is yet to come.

“I am not done, I will be back. I will be better than I’ve ever been before.”

Labrada last competed at the 2024 Olympia. He qualified with a win at the 2024 Promuscle Italy Pro but received criticism for his physique. Labrada went into the Olympia after making improvements and finished sixth in Men’s Open. He peaked with a fourth-place finish during the 2021 Olympia. He returned to finish seventh the next year and was sixth in 2023. Many bodybuilding fans believe that Labrada is a future Olympia champion and he believes that as well.

“As far as physical challenges go, I have finally gotten the shoulder procedure that I’ve needed for probably three years now.

In addition to rehabbing the shoulder and getting my head right, I’ve spent a lot of time on what matters to me, reconnecting with my family and friends. Things are firing in the gym again. Mentally, I feel refreshed.”
