Cutler shared a breakfast tradition that helped spark his bodybuilding career.

Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler has been open about his workouts and diet plans used during his incredible career on stage. In a recent video on social media, Cutler shared what his breakfast looked like in 1993 as he began his career in bodybuilding.

Cutler began to take his bodybuilding career to the next level as a teenager. He joined forces with coach Chris Aceto at just 18 years old and this is when he began growing. Cutler put together a career that included four Olympia titles but before he reached that level, Cutler used different diet plans to get started. That includes this breakfast from the Firehouse Cafe:

  • Multi-Grain Pancakes
  • Buffalo Patty
  • Egg Whites
  • Blueberries

“I ate this back in 1993. I was eating this meal, I think it’s a little more expensive now.”

Cutler was a bodybuilding icon as a 4x Mr. Olympia spanning from 2006-2010 and a 6x runner-up. At 5’9” tall, he’s still considered one of the best bodybuilders and managed an epic rivalry with 8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman. Still, he’s managed to stay in fantastic shape well after retirement. This is because he has remained active in the gym but continues to tailor his meal plan to his goals.

Jay Cutler Breaks Down Crazy Diet Plans During Career

Cutler has discussed at length some of the crazy diet plans he used during his career. This led to his belief that the food was the most difficult part of competing as a professional bodybuilding — and that is not hard to believe when you see what he used to eat.

It took a lot of time to prepare his food considering the amount of eggs that Cutler used to eat.

“I’m not going to lie, there was a lot of diets I ate 140 egg whites a day. So, I was just cracking eggs non-stop. I remember sitting cracking eggs for an hour in the morning and I would put everything in containers.”

Along with the egg whites, there was a lot of meat in Cutler’s daily plan. He admitted that he is not a big steak eater now but there was a time where he would keep a large amount in his freezer.

“I bought a cow from the butcher. I had a local butcher so I’d actually buy all the meat and I wold have two freezers. So, what I would do is buy the chicken and break it all down into two-pound bags and freeze it.”
