“I use niacin on a daily basis.”
Cutler was part of one of the greatest bodybuilding rivalries in history with Ronnie Coleman. He ended Coleman’s streak of eight consecutive Olympia victories in 2006. He would win back-to-back titles before losing to Dexter Jackson in 2008. Cutler would rebound with two more victories in 2009-10.
Following his bodybuilding career, Cutler has built a big social media platform where he can share different tips and opinions on fitness. During a recent edition of Jaywalking, Cutler explained why niacin is his new go-to supplement.
Jay Cutler Talks Benefits Of Niacin
Niacin is a supplement that improves circulation by opening blood vessels. This is the reason that Cutler takes it at this point.
“I used to take it for blood flow. Now, I take it because it’s great for your HL. I think it’s good to use supplements during training and after as well because you’re a sponge.”

In June, Jay Cutler discussed what the best supplement is to build muscle. He chose creatine as his best muscle-building substance and backed it up with the well-researched nature of it. There are certain negative connotations that come with creatine and Cutler touched on those as well. Cutler explained how you must remain hydrated while taking creatine and how it helps with strength and recovery.
Right now, Cutler has used niacin to help lower LDL cholesterol and increasing HDL levels.
“It’s kind of funny how you have to build up a tolerance to niacin. If you do the no-flush one, I don’t think it works the same.”
