Majors’ latest film where he gets to show off his physique now has a release date.

Jonathan Majors put in an incredible amount of work to build a physique that would fit his role of aspiring bodybuilder Killian Maddox in “Magazine Dreams.”

This film gained plenty of attention at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Searchlight Pictures following the event. It was dropped after Majors was convicted of domestic violence but now has a new plan to be released.

Briarcliff Entertainment recently acquired the distribution rights to the film and plan to release it in the first quarter of 2025. Briarcliff’s Tom Ortenberg confirmed the news in a statement shared with Deadline.

“Magazine Dreams is a visceral experience that challenges the perceptions of ambition and identity. Elijah’s film made a well-deserved splash at Sundance and Briarcliff is looking forward to taking his story to the big screen across the country in early 2025.”

“Magazine Dreams” Set To Hit Theaters In 2025

Jonathan Majors is no stranger to fitness. He grew up a tremendous athlete and was given the chance to transform his physique ahead of “Creed III.” In January 2023, Majors shared that he had to increase his diet plan in a big way for four months leading up to his role as Maddox.

“I’M 6 FEET TALL. I’M 202 POUNDS. IN ORDER TO SUSTAIN THAT AND TO GROW THAT YOU HAVE TO EAT AS MUCH PROTEIN THAT YOU WEIGH. I ATE 6,100 CALORIES A DAY FOR ABOUT FOUR MONTHS. THAT INCLUDED THE PRE-WORK AND THE POST-WORK OF ‘CREED III.’”

Majors hit the gym six days a week in order to build a physique for this role. He trained with Jason Best who prepared Majors for the role of Maddox. Maddox is a massive character that went against his doctors. He continued to take PEDs (Performance Enhancing Drugs) to pursue his dream of becoming a professional bodybuilder.

A strong supporting cast around Majors includes four-time Mr. Universe Mike O’Hearn. O’Hearn has been bodybuilding since he was a teenage over 40 years ago. He is best known for his incredible longevity in the sport. With a claim of being all-natural, his body is considered to be one of the best natural physiques of all time.

Briarcliff Entertainment is excited to share this film and show Jonathan Majors’ incredible performance.

“Jonathan Majors’ transcendent performance as Killian Maddox will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most compelling and transformative roles in recent history. We are honored to bring this extraordinary world to theaters nationwide, inciting audiences to witness a story that will resonate long after the credits roll.”
