Mike Sommerfeld’s Leg Day
Sommerfeld put together a leg day workout consisting of five different exercises:
Mike Sommerfeld incorporated myo reps into this workout. This is a high-intensity strategy where mini-sets follow an initial activation set with short periods of rest.
“Every rep you mess up is a rep your competitor performs perfectly. If you’re a wimp, you can be as strong as you want, you just won’t access it.”
Myo reps allow you to train to failure, especially in the first set where it is a lower load to start. While it is beneficial to complete the full range of motion within a rep, partials can be used during this method.
Mike Sommerfeld’s 10 Recovery Supplements
Mike Sommerfeld brought an insane physique to the Arnold Classic stage and following his victory, he discussed the importance of recovering using these 10 supplements:
- Creatine
- Electrolytes
- Human Milk Oligosaccharides
- Liver Support
- Multivitamins
- No Stress
- Omega-3 Fatty Acids
- Sleep & Dream
- Thyroid Support
- Vitamin C
“We’re not able to eat high amounts of vegetables or high amounts of fruits, especially when we’re in contest prep because we’re limited in calories.
I take creatine everyday. The reason for that is it also helps cognition so you can remember better and you’re much more fresh. And of course, better pumps, better ATP production, you’re stronger.”
