Nick Walker and Derek Lunsford discussed which poses each are better at on stage.
Nick Walker has never lacked confidence on stage. Since turning pro, he has shown off one of the best overall packages in bodybuilding but has dealt with different struggles over the last two years but he has not lost that confidence. During a recent podcast, Walker discussed with Derek Lunsford which poses each would defeat the other.
“No sh*t talking, most muscular is not even a competition.”
Walker returned to win the 2024 New York Pro but received criticism for his performance. Walker missed the 2023 Olympia after suffering a hamstring injury. This kept him out of the gym ahead of the competition and forced him to pull out of the show. Walker quickly returned to training and had his sights set on this year’s Olympia. He eventually pulled out of the competition once again but the former top-three finisher believes he can compete with the best.
Lunsford and Walker discussed their history of going back and forth in a light manner. This fuels the other and adds some fun to training and competition on stage.
Derek Lunsford & Nick Walker Compare Poses
The conversation began with Derek Lunsford discussing some poses where he believes he would win and of course, it began from the back.
“Back double and rear lat spread, I think are my money shots. Last year’s ab thigh at the Olympia wasn’t my best. I changed up my posing. It has changed drastically.”
Walker would agree on the back poses and even gave Lunsford abs and thighs.
“The shots I think Derek would beat me on, if we were both 100%, I would always give him front double. I’ll give him back double. And I’ll even give him the ab and thigh.”
“I think my front lat spread has improved a lot,” Lunsford said. “I think I take that one now. Going to the side now, he does have a crazy side chest. But I think my Mr. Olympia side chest takes it. You could make that argument.”
Derek Lunsford joked around when asked about what poses Walker would win. He gave credit to Walker’s freaky size before laughing about how he was given three wins.
“Nick has a pretty crazy most muscular.
I thought it was generous he gave me those three. I thought Nick was going to be like ‘he doesn’t beat me at any shot.’”
