Sam Sulek is moving quickly along during his prep for the Arnold.
Bodybuilder Sam Sulek is a professional in the industry and is now preparing to take a major step up in competition. During a chest workout, Sulek hit poses following the session. He did not share his exact bodyweight but shared that he is under 250 pounds and plans to go lower and lower.
“Visually, me to get to 240 from 250, is a very substantial change in leanness. It will be another big jump from 240 to 230. Once I get down to that 230 mark, that will be where I’m, not show ready, but close to it.”
Sulek was criticized early for his diet when he first burst onto the scene in the fitness industry. Now, the IFBB pro has focused on his diet and getting his body in the best shape possible. For this specific diet, he is past the initial phase that saw him lose weight quickly.
Now that the water weight is gone, Sulek will focus on the next phases of his diet.
“I feel like phase one of this diet was the initial water drop-off, where I lost like 10 pounds in week one. No body fat, just carbs and water. Now, I got under 250, so now I’m aiming for that sub-240 mark. I hypothesize that should take about, if I’m going a little quicker than a pound a week, that should take a little more than five weeks.”

Sam Sulek Discusses Olympia Plans Moving Forward

Sam Sulek became one of the biggest fitness stars in the world — both literally and figuratively. He was known for his intense training styles that led to an impressive physique. As he works his way into bodybuilding, Sulek shared that his goals are different than they used to be.
“I used to imagine 300-pound Sam Sulek. I was like’ yeah once I get to 300′ but it’s something where you actually get to a different position just over time and through progress, you’re going to have a different perception of what you actually want.”
Recently, it was announced that Andrew Jacked would be competing in the 2026 Arnold Classic. Jacked finished third at last year’s Arnold, behind Derek Lunsford and Samson Dauda. He will be one of the headliners in the Men’s Open division with others coming as well. It will be interesting to see who commits to Columbus but for now, Sam Sulek will take the stage as a Classic Physique bodybuilder.
Like many other competitors, the topic about moving up into Men’s Open or plans for the Olympia have been centered around Sam Sulek. He discussed both options previously and for now, wants to stay in the Classic Physique division.
“It won’t be so tight for the Pro weight cap but if I ever outgrew it, that’s fine by me. I’ll just move up. Why compete with the guys that are 280 if I’m only going to be at 230? It doesn’t make any sense. Give it some time.”
