How Shaun Clarida preps for the Olympia

As part of MUTANT’s 2025 Road to Glory YouTube series, Mr. Olympia contestant Shaun Clarida gives fans an inside look at how he’s fine-tuning his diet just nine weeks out from the prestigious Mr. Olympia competition. Known as “The Giant Killer,” Clarida has built a reputation for maintaining dense, hard muscle while carving down to razor-sharp conditioning — and nutrition is the foundation of that success.

At this stage in prep, his goal is simple yet precise: preserve muscle mass while accelerating fat loss. To do that, he increases cardio, tightens up food choices, and sticks to nutrient-timed meals designed to fuel performance without excess calories.

  • 20g almond butter – a dose of fats to slow digestion overnight.

And of course, he keeps cardio consistent to create a steady energy deficit without needing to slash food too drastically, which helps preserve muscle tissue.
