NFL legend Tom Brady reached a new mark on bench press for the first time in nearly two decades!

NFL legend Tom Brady is known for his incredible work ethic and dedication to keeping his body and overall health in good standing. Brady might be retired from the NFL but he continues to preach the “TB12” method and has even taken on challenges that he was unable to while playing.

In a recent video, Brady shared a one-rep max bench press of 245 pounds. He shared that this was the first time he lifted this type of weight in nearly two decades.

“In college or like early Pats for sure. Probably ’05-06 with Matt Cassel and I was just grinding it out to see who could lift more and be the bigger beast.”

Brady put together a career that spanned 23 years and has dubbed him the greatest of all-time. He is currently the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards (89,214), completions (7,753), and passing touchdowns (649). Brady, a three-time MVP, won a total of seven Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Even during the prime of his weightlifting, Brady did not reach 245 pounds but he did share his previous record.

“The most I did was like 225 for eight or nine. I always feel like if you could do your body weight 10 times, that’s a great goal.”

Tom Brady never focused much on weightlifting during his career. He was able to keep his body in shape using other workouts, along with a strict diet plan. Despite this new level of performance on the bench press, Brady will stay retired. This has been a topic of discussion since he returned to Tampa Bay after retiring the first time.

“If you told me this morning that I had to do 245, I’d be like ‘you’re out of your f*cking mind.’ If I was trying to unretire, I would not be doing this.”
