Urs Kalecinski Believes is it “Going to Be Possible” to Win Mr. Olympia: ‘I Don’t Want to Say This Year or Next’

Urs Kalecinski is confident in himself moving up to the biggest division in bodybuilding.

Bodybuilder Urs Kalecinski has successfully made the move into Men’s Open. He has logged two victories since making the jump, punching his ticket to the 2025 Olympia. While he has not asserted himself into the conversation for the Sandow this year, he believes that it is a realistic goal moving forward.

“It sounds crazy to say, but I think it’s going to be possible to win an Olympia title in the Open class. For real, I really believe it.”

Kalecinski made the move to Men’s Open so he could bring his best physique possible to the stage with no restrictions. Right away, he impressed with a victory in Italy before being crowned champion once again during the Europa Pro Championships.

Kalecinski will compete in the Olympia this year but has kept his expectations realistic.

“I don’t want to say it’s this year or next year or some bullsh*t like this. I’m not cocky or arrogant at all. I really believe I can make it because now I have a vision in my mind of how I can look now, which I didn’t have in Classic Physique.”

Is Urs Kalecinski Making a Mistake Competing?

Bodybuilding veteran Shawn Ray had strong comments about Urs Kalecinski competing at the Olympia right away. He believes that he should take a year off rather than rushing right into it.

Kalecinski heard these comments and while he respects Ray, believes that this is a chance that he cannot miss.

“He is a legendary bodybuilder, and it’s cool that you have your opinion. That’s how the world is, everybody should speak freely and speak whatever they want as long as they don’t hurt anyone. For me, it’s time to get on the plane to the Olympia and see what’s going on from there.”

Before his move to Open, Urs Kalecinski carved out a reputation as one of the top Classic Physique competitors in the world. He won the Tampa Pro in 2021, which led to his first Olympian appearance. Kalecinski secured fourth place in the competition. He followed this with a third-place finish at the Arnold Classic in 2022 behind runner-up Ramon Rocha Queiroz and 2022 winner Terrence Ruffin. He burst into the top three in 2023 and remained there in 2024.
