Bumstead has won four-consecutive Olympia titles in Classic Physique after taking the crown for the first time in 2019. Since then, he has competed once a year during this show. Bumstead’s full prep goes into the biggest show of the year. If he were to do Men’s Open, he would look for a big show shortly after the Olympia.
The question surrounding Bumstead is, how would he place?
“If he went to Open class right now with his current physique, I don’t think he would place that well, to be honest.”
Vissers has aspirations of winning his first Olympia title this year. He continued to speak on the difference between Open and Classic Physique.
Wesley Vissers Talks Chris Bumstead To Open
Chris Bumstead has become one of the biggest stars on the planet. There have been talks about him competing in Men’s Open before he calls it a career.
Vissers believes he can accomplish this goal but would need to tailor his physique to the ultimate goal.
”He’s still not full enough, not enough mass but with 10-15 extra pounds, I still don’t think he surpasses someone like Samson.”
Vissers earned his Pro Card in 2017 and won Mr. Golden Era that same year. Aside from that, he also has been on the Mr. Olympia stage on several different occasions, and being on that stage is one of the highest honors in the sport of bodybuilding. Standing tall at 6’2” and weighing from 216 lbs to 234 lbs, the physique that Vissers has crafted has earned him a lot of respect and popularity in the bodybuilding world.
Vissers will go head-to-head with Bumstead come October and it will be one of the highlights of the events. For now, Bumstead is looking to win his sixth consecutive Classic Physique title and it will be interesting to see if he makes a move to Open.
“Top 10 for sure. It’s weird to say Classic Physique champion is only Top 10 but open class is just a different ball game. Trust me, it’s different.”
