William Bonac will not look at pictures from 2022 Olympia, feels embarrassed about performance.

William Bonac is a big name in Men’s Open bodybuilding. He has enjoyed plenty of success over the course of his career but was unhappy with his recent performance at the 2022 Olympia. In fact, he used the word “embarrassed” to describe his thoughts on the showing.

Bonac announced that he would not be competing again this year but plans to return for the 2024 Arnold Classic. This is a competition where he has seen great success but fell to seventh place during this year’s show. Bonac won the show in 2018 and 2020. He was unable to compete in 2021 due to travel restrictions before finishing second to Brandon Curry in 2022, which was his second runner-up finish.

Bonac competed in Columbus this year despite his feelings on the Olympia. During an appearance on The Menace Podcasthe admits that he still cannot look at the photos from the show.

“I’m so embarrassed brother. I’m so embarrassed to even look at those pictures from the Olympia. I’ve only seen one of them. Mostly when people I care or supporters post a picture of me, I will always post it in my stories. This one, I can’t even look at it. I skip it.”

William Bonac Recalls Performance At 2022 Olympia

During the interview, Dennis James asked William Bonac about the Olympia. Bonac did not hold back when discussing his feelings on his own performance, where he finished ninth.

“I look at myself and that was like the worst showcasing of my career. I looked like shit over there. To be honest with you, some people say ‘you could have placed higher.’ I say ‘are you kidding me? I’m happy with the place I got.’ I’m lucky to even place there. I didn’t look good at all.”

William Bonac felt lucky that he was able to finish in the Top 10 after not feeling his best. This began from the moment he arrived for the show.

“I felt it. When I got in Vegas, I think a day or two I saw that things were not as they were when I was back home. The moment when I left home, it just kept getting worse and worse.”

Bonac continued to discuss his mindset when entering a show. At this point in his career, Bonac does not get nerves like he used to.

“I really don’t have these issues. I think maybe the first Olympia or second as well, I had these problems. After that, I was so used to it. When I get to a show, I’m as comfortable as can be. I don’t stress myself.”

William Bonac is focusing on his family and other business ventures for the rest of the 2023 season. He is not done competing in his career but will take some time to improve his physique.
