Makaia Childress urges other bodybuilders to “please consider their health.”

Makaia Childress, a 20-year-old aspiring bodybuilder, shared a video speaking to others to “consider their health” after suffering a heart attack due to steroid use. Childress went to TikTok to speak on his experience.

Over the last two years, there has unfortunately been a string of deaths that has hit the bodybuilding world hard. Shawn Rhoden suffered a heart attack at the end of 2021. George Peterson also passed away suddenly around the same time. Cedric McMillan and Boston Loyd also passed away due to heart complications.

Childress, who admitted to taking steroids since he was 15, opened up in a video and urged others to get checked out.

Makaia Childress: “I Almost Died…Go Talk To You Doctor”

Makaia Childress shared this video on Tuesday and it has amassed 851,000 views on TikTok. He laid out all of the substances he has been taking over the last five years.

“I’m 20 years old and I just had a heart attack from gear. If you don’t know what gear is, it’s anabolic steroids. Steroids are really bad for you. I’ve been abusing PEDs for the past five years, SARMS, Human Growth Hormone, everything you could possibly imagine.”

Childress used these PEDs to build size and get as big as possible. He wanted to be as big as other bodybuilders and was willing to do whatever it took.

“To look the way I wanted to look, to be as big as the other guys, I pushed gear, I pushed food, and I was not truly paying attention to my health.

This won’t happen to everybody, but I hope you can please, I mean, please, go get blood work done and please don’t abuse this shit, it’s serious. Like I said, I’m age 20 and I just got a heart attack from taking it for so long with hardly any rest breaks.”

Steroids and different PEDs are clearly not new to the sport of bodybuilding and athletes use them under the constant of coaches and different medical professionals.

Makaia Childress is still at an early point of his life and mainly spoke to other kids out there who might be thinking of doing the same.

“So all you kids out there taking PEDs, please reconsider your health.

Go talk with your doctor. Get your blood work done. Take lower doses. Do anything you possibly can in order to reduce the risk of getting a heart attack or suffering other diseases like I just suffered and went through.”
