Bodybuilder With Down Syndrome Kyle Landi Comes Within One Spot of IFBB Pro Card at 2026 Toronto Pro Qualifier

Canadian bodybuilder Kyle Landi, who has Down syndrome, delivered another impressive performance on stage by earning a second-place finish at the 2026 Toronto Pro Qualifier, coming within one spot of securing an IFBB Pro card.

The Toronto Pro Qualifier, held alongside the Toronto Pro Supershow in Ontario, offered a record number of opportunities for athletes looking to join the professional ranks. Landi ultimately fell just short of the victory needed to earn his card, but his runner-up finish continued what has become one of the most inspiring journeys in modern bodybuilding.

Kyle Landi’s Rise Captured the Attention of Arnold Schwarzenegger

For many fans, Landi’s story first gained widespread attention when videos of his training and competition efforts began circulating online. His passion for bodybuilding eventually caught the attention of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has repeatedly highlighted Landi as an example of why fitness should be accessible to everyone.

Landi’s rise even led to an invitation to appear at the Arnold Classic, where he met and trained alongside Schwarzenegger. The bodybuilding legend later praised Landi’s determination and commitment to the sport, helping introduce his story to an even wider audience.

Kyle Landi Trains Alongside Bodybuilding’s Biggest Stars

Since becoming a recognizable figure in the fitness world, Landi has shared training sessions and appearances with some of the biggest names in bodybuilding and strength sports. That list includes Nick Walker, Antoine Vaillant, Larry Wheels, Tristyn Lee, Ronnie Coleman, Flex Wheeler, and Breon Ansley.

Those moments have generated millions of views online, but they have also showcased the respect Landi has earned throughout the bodybuilding community. Fellow athletes have embraced him not because of his story, but because of the dedication he brings to training and competition.

Kyle Landi’s IFBB Pro Card Chase Continues

What makes Landi’s latest result particularly noteworthy is that it further proves he can compete at a high level in legitimate amateur bodybuilding contests.

His second-place finish in Toronto may not have secured an IFBB Pro card, but it demonstrated that he is closing the gap. Rather than simply serving as an inspirational figure, Landi continues to establish himself as a serious competitor capable of contending for professional status.

With another prep cycle and more opportunities ahead, the goal remains unchanged.

The Toronto Pro Qualifier did not deliver the ending Landi was hoping for, but it did provide another step forward in a journey that continues to inspire bodybuilding fans around the world.
