Diana Arêas, 39, fell out of the common area of her complex in Brazil.
Brazilian bodybuilder and influencer Diana Arêas passed away last week after falling from her apartment. J3News reported on Thursday that Arêas, 39, was found dead in the common area of her complex located in Campos, which is north of Rio de Janeiro.
Just hours before her death, Arêas was hospitalized after first responders arrived at her apartment and found her with lacerations all over her body. She was treated and cleared by doctors later that day. Reports began hours later that her body was found following a fall.
Arêas became popular on social media sharing different workout and diet tips along with many photos and videos in the gym. The bodybuilder, who doubled as a nutritionist, totaled over 200,000 followers on Instagram. Her final post came days before her death and has now gone viral with many fans commenting and sharing condolences.
Arêas spent much of her time improving her own physique and health while helping others build a better version of themselves as well. Arêas’ social media pages also claim that she competed many times on stage during bodybuilding competitions.
There have been few details released about her death. Police claim that they are still investigating the tragic incident.
Diana Arêas’ Death Follows Unfortunate String
There has been an unfortunate string of deaths in the bodybuilding world that have occurred for various reasons.
On Monday, the news of former champion Faramarz Azizi‘s death came to light. Azizi’s cause of death has not officially been shared but The Kashmir Radar reported that it was from cardiac arrest. RXMuscle also reported the passing of Azizi over the weekend. During his career, Faramarz Azizi was a successful Iranian bodybuilder and Asian champion from Shahriar. According to a report, Azizi was removed from the national team roster despite winning a gold medal during qualifiers. This caused great controversy within the community.
This includes Fabiano Andrade, who passed away just weeks after competing in the Musclecontest Brasil Pro. Fabiano Andrade turned into a competitive bodybuilder at a young age. He was able to build a physique that was able to stand up on stage with the best in the world. This includes NPC appearances in 2019 along with a fourth-place finish at the Arnold Amateur South America.
Andrade would earn his Pro Card and go onto compete in the Musclecontest Brazil Pro in 2021-2022. Just two years later, Andrade was turning in the best performances of his career. This includes Top 10 finishes during the Musclecontest Sao Paulo Pro and Arnold Brazil Pro. Andrade most recently compete in Brazil and at the Musclecontest Rio Pro, where he finished ninth.
Just weeks prior, it was reported that IFBB Women’s Physique Pro Jessica Rivera passed away. Rivera put together an impressive bodybuilding career that earned her a Pro Card nearly a decade ago. She became known in Women’s Physique for her impressive conditioning and muscle tone. Rivera was able to become a strong competitor in the division over the course of her career.
