Chris Bumstead is working to put on extra size ahead of the show and discussed his path!
Chris Bumstead is preparing to take the stage during the 2024 EVLS Prague Pro in the Men’s Open division. This news has brought great attention to the upcoming competition as the six-time Classic Physique Olympia champion will take the stage. During a recent YouTube video, Bumstead spoke about his process and expectations.
“We are two weeks out. Two weeks and two days out of my Open debut. I’ve been eating pretty good, I’m not going to lie. My body has been handling a lot of food so I’ve been enjoying it.”
Bumstead has teased the idea of doing an Open show before completely retiring from bodybuilding. After his victory at the 2024 Olympia, Bumstead announced his retirement from the sport but has decided to do one final show.
Bumstead might be adding more food to his diet but has not seen a change in his weight. He will continue to work with Hany Rambod on the plan moving forward.
“Me and Hany, we got a plan but he keeps telling me to eat. My weight is not going up. I’m enjoying the food. I definitely lost a healthy amount of muscle sucking down to make weight.”
Chris Bumstead Shares Expectations For Prague Pro
Bumstead has taken on new strategies on the gym and within his diet plan recently to prepare.
“I never had a chance to really just not care about being dry and tight on stage and making weight and just being full as f*ck. I can do that and have fun and spill over and look like a water buffalo. That would be a f*cking grand old time.”

Chris Bumstead will be part of an exciting lineup during the Prague Pro. This includes Shaun Clarida and fourth-place finisher at the Olympia Martin Fitzwater. Clarida has a Men’s Open victory under his belt in recent years while Fitzwater has emerged as one of the top competitors in the world.
Bumstead is keeping his expectations in check leading up to the show.
“Do I expect to win? I’ll probably f*ck around and make some jokes with Martin but I’ve instilled my genuine, actual confidence, not what I portray as confidence, my actual feeling of confidence and self-belief in myself bu being very honest with myself. And my realistic expectation is I don’t think I’m going to win.”
This doe not mean that Chris Bumstead will just lay down and not go all out to bring home one final title.
“I’m still going to try my hardest to look my best. If I can give these guys a run for their money with zero time prepping to be an Open Bodybuilder, the opposite, losing some muscle to make weight, bouncing back, having a good time and looking good and full up there.”
