Chris Bumstead is one of the biggest fitness stars on the planet so when he talks, people listen. The issue of steroids in bodybuilding has been discussed at length over the last two years and Bumstead weighed in on the conversation. Recently, the Classic Physique star discussed what he believes is the “most toxic” steroid.

Each year, Bumstead puts his focus on the biggest show of the year and has not disappointed with four-straight titles.

The topic of retirement seems to come up each year around Bumstead but he has claimed to still be chasing Mr. Olympia titles. Along with retirement rumors, Bumstead has messed around with the idea of competing in Men’s Open but there is no plan to do so just yet. He has admitted to possibly competing in one show before he hangs it up.

This topic came up once again during Bumstead’s discussion of steroids.

Chris Bumstead: “When Things Start To Falter…I Just Need To Call It”

There is no doubt that the sport of bodybuilding carries many risks involving steroids. Chris Bumstead is aware of those risks and believes that others are as well.

“If you’re a bodybuilder and you don’t worry about that, you’re either stupid or lying, to be completely honest.

There’s a lot of tests. Diagnostics now are absolutely insane, if you want to stay healthy long term. If something is going on with you, it’s catching it early. I do a lot of diagnostics and blood work to make sure I stay healthy.”

Bumstead admitted to taking many tests to make sure his health is in line. If it begins to go downhill, he will call it a career.

“I’ve made an agreement with myself that the nthese things start to falter and they start to go down, no matter where I am in my career if I’m peaked, if I’m not peaked, I just need to call it. It’s not worth it to me. There’s a life after bodybuilding. Who I am is not a bodybuilder. There’s more to me than that.”

Chris Bumstead Discusses “Most Toxic” Steroid

Chris Bumstead continued to discuss what steroids are best from his experiences while also targeting the worst. He stays away from Trenbolone because of the side effects.

“That’s probably the most toxic thing you can put in your body. I’ve done it in the past but I don’t anymore. I haven’t touched it in five years due to just the toxicity it causes in your body. It just comes in and harms your kidneys, your liver, everything that takes your body to process it and go through it. It’s not natural meant to be in your body.”

Bumstead is not the first fitness star to discuss Tren and its side effects. Larry Wheels described being on the substance as a “living hell.”

“The biggest one is then. There’s guys who literally base their social media off that now. It’s a meme of the gym culture. I don’t even think people realize the impact these jokes and talking about you need more of it to be better, stronger, and all that.”
