Yates has also used his platform to share his thoughts about the current happenings in sports and that is what happened recently.

Derek Lunsford Responds To Dorian Yates’ Comments
Dorian Yates was seen in a clip on social media comparing today’s physiques to those from decades ago. He brought up looks from Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lee Haney when discussing the peak male physique.
“This is the best male physique in the world, 6-foot-4, with wide shoulders and a small waist. You look at Arnold or Lee Haney. Wow, I get it. That’s the ultimate male physique.”
Yates went onto discuss the current era of bodybuilding and does not believe that it brings the best possible look.
“If you talk about the guys that are Mr. Olympia now and you show that to members of the public and tell them that’s the ultimate male physique. Well, hold on, he’s only like 5-foot-4 or something, isn’t he? He’s like a fridge. How is that possible?”
This gained attention from Derek Lunsford, who regained his Olympia title this year. Lunsford defended today’s era, claiming that the sport has been taken to a new level.
“This is a NEW era that has taken bodybuilding to a NEW LEVEL. We can respect the greats from the past, but this RIGHT NOW is the GREATEST moment in BODYBUILDING HISTORY.”
Lunsford set a goal to complete bodybuilding’s trifecta after his victories at the Arnold Classic and Pittsburgh Pro. He accomplished this goal by winning his second Olympia title. Hadi Choopan finished as the runner-up once again. It was a big-time performance by Andrew Jacked, who was one of the most improved bodybuilders over the course of the year, finishing in third place.
