What do you do when you’ve reached the top of your field? Do you choose to stick with it and continue to assert your dominance? Or do you choose another path, one that ensures you continue to grow through new challenges? For many they choose the former. They would rather stay in their comfort zone than challenge themselves with something new. However, there are those who take it upon themselves to find a new goal to set their sights on. Whether it’s through boredom or the promise of exhilaration, finding a new challenge is the spark that keeps them thriving.

For Eddie Hall taking up new challenges appears to be his new job description. After dominating the strongman world the 2017 World’s Strongest Man went on to make a shift in his career. No longer is he focused on moving boulders or pulling trucks or planes. No, Hall has multiple interests that have made following his journey an entertaining experience. He dipped his toes into the boxing arena, facing off against longtime rival Hafthor Bjornsson. Now Hall is in search of a new challenge and this time it’s strength sport adjacent.

Eddie Hall is pursuing bodybuilding in hopes of shedding any excess fat from his frame showcasing the hard earned muscle underneath. In order to complete this transformation and step on stage, Hall is employing the help of many different bodybuilding athletes. That includes working alongside Larry Wheels for a shoulder workout.

Training With The Best

But Larry Wheels isn’t the only training partner helping Eddie Hall. Four-time Olympia champion Jay Cutler is also helping Hall transform his physique. The two recently did a back training session together while in Columbus, Ohio for the 2023 Arnold Sports Festival. During their training session Cutler emphasized that the training for bodybuilding differs from that of strongman training. Where strongman training is focused on building greater strength, bodybuilding is about constructing quality muscle.

“We try to focus on three working sets of 12 repetitions; 45 to 60 seconds of rest between each set,” said Jay Cutler.
