Dmitry Nuyanzin wanted to put on weight in order to lose it and promote his new program.
Russian fitness coach and influencer Dmitry Nuyanzin died last week during a binge-eating challenge to promote his new weight-loss program.
Multiple reports claim that Nuyanzin, 30, attempted to put on over 50 pounds so he could show how fast he could take the weight off. Nuyanzin, who hailed from Orenburg, ate approximately 10,000 calories per day for weeks in order to put the weight on.
Reports also claim that Nuyanzin told friends he was going to see a doctor after he began to feel unwell, causing him to cancel training sessions. He would pass away in his sleep due to cardiac arrest.
Nuyanzin gained around 30 pounds quickly. In the middle of November, Nuyanzin shared that he was around 230 pounds. He made an offer to followers, saying he would pay $100 to those who lost 10% of their bodyweight by the new year.
Dmitry Nuyanzin’s Binge-Eating Challenge
During the challenge, the fitness coach made sure to eat foods full of calories during each meal. He did not share his exact plan day-to-day but shared what a typical day might look like. This includes heavy meals, three times a day, with snacks in between.
“For breakfast, I have a plate of pastries and half a cake. For lunch, I usually eat 800 grams of dumplings and mayonnaise. During the day, I may snack on crisps, and for dinner, I have a burger and two small pizzas, either at a cafe or delivered.”
Dmitry Nuyanzin graduated from Orenburg Olympic Reserve School and the National Fitness University in St. Petersburg. He had many years of experience as a personal trainer, helping many people create the best versions of themselves. Many took to social media to share messages and condolences about Nuyanzin, who was described as “bright” and “positive” during his time as a trainer.
Tips to Lose Fat
Caloric Deficit and Clean Foods
Being in a caloric deficit is the MOST important thing to losing fat. It doesn’t matter how hard you work out, if you’re eating countless meals and snacks, then the chances are that you’re going to gain weight.
You can’t out-train a bad diet. You can train all you want, jump on the treadmill and do all of the cardio you want, but if you are eating massive amounts of junk food then you are not going to be losing weight. A cheat meal here and there is fine, but continuing to eat junk is no good.
Don’t be that person! Focus on eating in a caloric deficit and eating clean foods, make sure that your protein, fat, and carbohydrate sources are all coming from legitimate food sources and not junk blends.
Strength Train
If you are strictly doing cardio with the goal of losing fat, then you are actually doing some damage to your fat loss journey. Sounds backwards, doesn’t it? How can you be slowing down losing fat if you are working hard and doing a lot of cardio?
Well, it’s simply because you’re not building muscle mass. You need to build muscle to speed up your metabolism. You see, the more muscle you have, the higher your basal (resting) metabolic rate. This is the amount of calories you burn at rest. The higher your resting metabolic rate, the more calories you burn LITERALLY doing NOTHING.
