Is This The Freakiest Christmas Tree Back Ever?

This bodybuilder’s back is insane.

Creating the perfect physique is no simple task, and there is a lot that goes into it from training routines all the way to diet and supplementation. For each individual the definition of the perfect body is completely different. While some bodybuilders believe the perfect physique is all about having the most muscle mass, being the biggest, many others believe that being absolutely shredded, with almost no body fat is the key to success. Everyone has an opinion and that what makes bodybuilding such an interesting topic. There is really no right or wrong answer and that’s what makes the endeavor an eternal one. For instance, developing the ultimate Christmas Tree back is a major goal for many bodybuilders.

A Christmas Tree back is when the back muscles seem to look like, well, a Christmas Tree.

While many male lifters may be focused on their chest and arm development to make sure that they fill out their shirts properly, the back is just as important if not more, as it helps not only with functional movements, but also the appearance of being wider, forming the perfect v-taper. Just ask the IFBB pros how important back development is and you may be surprised. The top pros with insane backs usually are the athletes that dominate the competition. As Kai Greene once pointed out, the back rules pro bodybuilding and can mean the difference be victory and defeat, especially on the Mr. Olympia stage. This is something that 5x Classic Physique Mr. Olympia, Chris Bumstead has taken into thought, and it shows.

With the holiday right upon us, we thought it was appropriate to highlight someone with one of the most prominent “Christmas Tree” backs in the industry. We found one of Chris Bumstead’s best back pictures to put up and highlight as a true Christmas Tree back. While some people may not focus on training the back with the utmost intensity, the Instagram posting below could go a long way to changing many bodybuilder’s minds.
