Newly pro Larry Wheels wants to face off against Sam Sulek – Goob weighs in on who would win

In the latest episode of The Goob Show, host John Dorsey (aka Goob) dives deep into the hard realities of professional bodybuilding, delivers blunt analysis on recent competition results, and unpacks several controversies shaking up the fitness world. As always, Goob keeps it raw, real, and refreshingly honest. Whether you’re a diehard bodybuilding fan or just dipping into fitness culture, this episode is packed with takes you won’t hear anywhere else.

Goob also weighs in on Larry Wheel’s recent entrance into pro bodybuilding – and answer who would win in a pro battle between Larry and Sam Sulek.

Here’s a brief rundown of the topics discussed in this week’s episode:

  • Is bodybuilding an extreme sport or does it promote healthy living?
  • Analyzing Nick Walker’s New York Pro victory after his impressive statement at the Pittsburgh Pro.
  • Does pro bodybuilding have an excitement problem?
  • Larry Wheels goes pro – could he beat Sam Sulek?
  • A bodybuilding coach convicted of manslaughter has a warrant out for his arrest.
  • A bodybuilding coach sexual harassment scandal ends up in a hoax.
  • The truth behind Eddie Hall’s road rage viral video.

You can watch the full episode of The Goob Show above. Keep reading for an in-depth breakdown of the episode. Let’s dive in!

Bodybuilding: A Sport of Health or Extremes?

Goob opens the show by drawing a hard line between bodybuilding as a lifestyle and bodybuilding as a sport. According to him, anyone who believes professional bodybuilding is a symbol of health is “completely foolish.”

Bodybuilding at the pro level, he argues, is not about wellness—it’s about pushing the limits of the human physique, often at great personal risk. The sport thrives on extremes: extreme dieting, extreme training, and extreme supplementation. The obsession required to step on stage at that level separates elite athletes from average gym-goers.

Goob makes the case that if bodybuilding was completely healthy and something everyone could do – it wouldn’t be unique or impressive. That sentiment sets the tone for the entire episode—a no-BS look into the culture of bodybuilding beyond glossy Instagram posts and inspirational gym memes.

Nick Walker’s Comeback: Wins the New York Pro

The headline news in bodybuilding this week is Nick Walker’s massive win at the 2025 New York Pro. After missing two Mr. Olympia competitions due to injury and losing the Pittsburgh Pro to Derek Lunsford just a week earlier, many were questioning if Nick could still hang with the sport’s elite.

Goob breaks it down: the Pittsburgh Pro wasn’t a clean-cut loss—it was a tie. Both Nick and Derek received equal scores through pre-judging and finals, prompting an additional comparison round. According to Goob, this is part of a new wave of transparency in the IFBB Pro League. Tyler Manion even released a video post-show explaining the judging process. Goob applauds the move.

The final tie-breaker? Derek Lunsford “faded less” than Nick in the last round, according to the judges. It was close. Very close.

Nick Walker’s response? Show up and win New York. Now, with his Olympia qualification secured, the conversation is shifting. Goob points out: if Nick tied with the reigning Arnold Classic champion (who beat the current Mr. Olympia earlier this year), then a fully dialed-in Nick Walker is absolutely in the running for Olympia gold this year.

The Energy Bodybuilding Needs: Rivalries and Momentum

Derek vs. Nick wasn’t just a good battle—it’s exactly what bodybuilding needs more of. Goob and co-host Ed discuss how Lunsford’s willingness to compete outside of Olympia—especially at high-profile events like the Arnold Classic and Pittsburgh Pro—has injected some much-needed energy into the pro scene.

Most bodybuilding fans wait all year for Olympia. But that kind of long downtime kills momentum. What the sport lacks, Goob says, is the electricity you get in boxing or MMA. The controversies, the rivalries, the drama.

But here’s the catch: bodybuilding isn’t a sport of extroverts. Most top-tier athletes are introverts. They aren’t showmen; they’re craftsmen. They spend hours in solitude building perfection, not chasing clout. That makes it tough to stir up compelling storylines between shows.

Goob admits it’s a double-edged sword. You can’t fake charisma. And you can’t manufacture controversy when most of these guys just want to train and be left alone.

Larry Wheels Goes Pro—But Is He Ready for the Big Leagues?

Another hot topic: Larry Wheels just earned his IFBB Pro Card at the Musclecontest show in Ireland. While it’s a major accomplishment, Goob keeps expectations in check.

Yes, Larry has a freaky physique. Yes, he’s a beast in powerlifting. But this was a small show with less competition. Goob says it felt like Larry was checking a box, not slaying a giant.

Interestingly, Larry has hinted at facing off with internet sensation Sam Sulek in the future. Goob offers his take on the hypothetical matchup: Sam wins. Hands down. He believes Sulek’s bodybuilding talent is just on another level.

DxdBreed Involuntary Homicide Conviction Resurfaces

The episode takes a darker turn as Goob discusses the resurfacing of a legal issue involving bodybuilder and coach Daylen Dunson, better known online as DxdBreed.

Dunson, convicted of involuntary homicide in 2022, now has a warrant out for his arrest. The incident involved the death of a university student during a hazing event, where the victim died from alcohol poisoning after being abandoned while intoxicated. Surprisingly, Dunson continues to post and promote his coaching as recent as the very day that Goob was recording this podcast.

Goob uses the moment to reflect on the toxic culture of binge drinking and hazing in college life. “I was obsessed with lifting in college,” he says. “And I remember watching this drinking culture around me and thinking, ‘This is disgusting.’”

Fake Sexual Harassment Allegations: Goob Investigates and Uncovers the Truth

In one of the most compelling segments, Goob shares how he almost released a video exposing a coach accused of sexual harassment—only to discover the allegations were fake.

Initially planning to call out the coach based on “leaked” screenshots, Goob did his due diligence and noticed something strange. Using Photoshop, he enhanced the images and noticed signs of forgery. He pivoted. Instead of accusing the coach, he exposed the person behind the false allegations.

The result? The accuser deleted their account, and the coach’s name was cleared.

“It’s a lesson in digital literacy,” Goob says. “Don’t trust everything you see online. Especially if it’s made to manipulate your emotions.”

Eddie Hall’s “Road Rage” Incident: Context Is Everything

Finally, the episode covers a viral clip of strongman legend Eddie Hall yelling at a fan outside his home. The internet’s immediate reaction was negative—until the full context came out.

Turns out, the “fan” had stalked Eddie and refused to leave his property. What looked like random rage was actually Eddie protecting his privacy.

Goob connects this to the earlier story: viral content is almost always edited to evoke a certain reaction. Whether it’s screenshots, videos, or social posts, we often see only one side of the story—the side that someone wants us to see.

Wrap Up

This episode of The Goob Show is a stark reminder of why fans follow Goob in the first place. He’s not here to sugarcoat or sensationalize. He’s here to speak the truth—even if it makes people uncomfortable.

From breaking down pro bodybuilding’s health risks to dissecting internet witch hunts, Goob delivers sharp insight with zero fluff. His commentary is a breath of fresh air in a fitness industry that often trades authenticity for algorithms.

If you’re looking for a podcast that gives you unfiltered, intelligent takes on bodybuilding culture, competition, and controversy—this episode hits hard.
