Gunter Schlierkamp looks chiseled in retirement, bringing up the discussion of a comeback.

The Maters Olympia is rumored to be returning in 2023 and this has caused plenty of discussions around bodybuilding veterans returning to competition. In a recent photo on Instagram, veteran Gunter Schlierkamp is seen showing off his massive biceps while visiting Dennis Wolf.

Schlierkamp established himself as a successful bodybuilder over the course of his career. Named the Greatest German Bodybuilder of All-Time by “Sports Revenue Magazine” in 2003, Schlierkamp competed as many Olympia competitions and went toe-to-toe with some of the all-time greats.

Schlierkamp retired from competition in 2006 after placing sixth in the Olympia. Since then, it is clear that the 52-year-old has remained in great shape in retirement.

Gunter Schlierkamp Remains Shredded In Retirement

Last week, Gunter Schlierkamp visited Dennis Wolf and his home gym, dubbed The Wolf’s Den.

“Great time at the Wolf’s Den. I love the equipment that @dennisbigbadwolf has in his Wolf’s Den. It is always good to see Dennis and Katja . Two of the nicest people I have ever met.”

Olympia President Jake Wood confirmed that the show would return in 2023. Chris Cormier and judge Terrick El Guindy rumored that it will take place in either August or October. The current plan is to have a Men’s Open division with an age cap of over 45.

Gunter Schlierkamp is the most recent veteran to have his name thrown into the mix. Jay Cutler squashed rumors of returning to the stage competitively after a video surfaced of him hitting some poses. Dennis Wolf has also remained active in the gym and social media showing off different exercises and physique updates.

It is clear that Schlierkamp has remained active in the gym and continues his love for fitness. Judging by his recent posts, it looks as though he would be a candidate for the Masters Olympia if he has interest in competing once again.
