Grimes returned to competition last year and earned a victory during the 2023 Europa Pro Championships. This earned him a spot in the 2023 Olympia, where he finished ninth. Grimes has been hard at work bulking up again this year with a goal of returning in 2025.
The goal has been to add more and more size to his frame. In October, Grimes shared that he was up to 296 pounds and has gone even higher since.

Jay Cutler Talks Regan Grimes’ Potential As Mr. Olympia
Regan Grimes has been sharing weekly physique updates where he shows off his progress leading up to the New York Pro. In February, he weighed in at 327 pounds. Now, Grimes believes he has the size to compete with the best and wants to put it all together.
“I think I’ve got the size now. It’s just like coming in at my best, 100%,” Grimes said.
With Grimes current build, Jay Cutler believes he has a high ceiling moving forward. The bodybuilding legend went as far to say that if Grimes “locked up” for one year, he would turn him into Mr. Olympia.
“He needs to be locked up. If he locked up in my house for a year, he’d be Mr. Olympia.”
Regan Grimes appeared as a featured subject in Generation Iron 3. The film followed multiple athletes, including Regan, who was in the process of deciding if he wanted to shift gears to the Classic Physique division rather than Men’s Open, which eventually he did. It provided some deeper insight into the life behind the muscle.
