Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler has maintained an impressive physique in retirement and continues to improve each day. Cutler has shared his tips of the trade on social media, including his current stacks and the best time of the day to take supplements.

“When is the best time to take your supplements? In the morning.”
Cutler was part of one of the greatest bodybuilding rivalries in history with arguably the best bodybuilder of all time, Ronnie Coleman. He ended Coleman’s streak of eight consecutive Olympia victories in 2006. He would win back-to-back titles before losing to Dexter Jackson in 2008. Cutler would rebound with two more victories in 2009-10.
Cutler is sent many questions from fans to answer about how to improve. He recently answered a popular one on when to take certain supplements.
Jay Cutler’s Best Time to Take Supplements
The bodybuilding legend shared his current stack that he takes at 51 years old:
- Probiotic
- Multivitamin
- B Complex
- Krill Oil
- Glucose Disposal
- Curcumin
- D3
“Every morning I take those in the middle of breakfast. Now, supplements, I think are always taken best in the middle of.”
If you train in the morning, supplements can be taken during this workout. Jay Cutler also explained how they are beneficial during a meal.
“When is the best time to take it? During, not before or after. Think during when you are eating and then during the training session.”
Jay Cutler’s Talks Best Supplement to Build Muscle
Jay Cutler chose creatine as his best muscle-building substance and backed it up with the well-researched nature of it. There are certain negative connotations that come with creatine and Cutler touched on those as well. Creatine is great for recovery and gives weightlifters more strength in the gym as well.
“Of course, you hear about ‘does it dehydrate you? Does it make you retain water?’ You should stay active with your drinking anyway. With creatine, as long as your diets in check, it’s a great product.
It’s going to make you more swell to the muscles. It’s going to give you more strength and recovery. There’s so many benefits.”
