Martin Fitzwater suffered some severe pain on stage but was still able to win the 2024 Prague Pro!
Martin Fitzwater has quickly become one of the top bodybuilders in the world. He showed it off on the biggest stage back in October and followed it up with an impressive performance during the 2024 Prague Pro. Fitzwater had to overcome adversity over the course of the finals after experiencing discomfort in his hamstring.
“About the second round of posing, in the transition from the rear double to the rear lat spread when I locked my hamstring, it popped a couple of fibers. I had some major pain.”
Fitzwater brought the best package of his career to the 2024 Olympia and made a jump into the top four. He was able to leap many competitors and contend for the overall title. Fitzwater officially punched his ticket to the 2025 competition after competing with the likes of Chris Bumstead and Shaun Clarida.
Fitzwater was able to rebound from this incident to win the Prague Pro.

Fitzwater brought a championship physique to the stage but his victory did not come without struggles. Once he felt this pop in his hamstring, it was time to overcome and adjust.
“That’s why I started sweating. We knew, I got frustrated. I let it get in my head.
You could clearly see it in the videos that I was just mentally shook. My team sat me down and told me to get my head out of my ass and make sure that we win this thing.”

Fitzwater and his team found ways to adjust posing and work around the pain he was feeling in his hamstring.
“We got better and we improved. We changed some posing to be able to work it around it and we finished the job just like we were supposed to.”
Martin Fitzwater is now qualified for the 2025 Olympia and will be one of the contenders to bring home the title. After a fourth-place finish this year, Fitzwater will look to improve and jump up the scorecard.
