The news of Chris Bumstead taking the stage in Open Bodybuilding was major following his announcement of retirement at the 2024 Olympia. He finished second to Martin Fitzwater and Krizo believes he would have been third he is was there.
“It’s okay. As long as he wasn’t first, it’s fine. And if I was there, he would have finished third. Just kidding.”
Krizo suffered a shoulder injury earlier in the year but his original plan was to appear in Prague in hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Olympia. This injury kept him out of the 2024 event but he has plans to return next year. Krizo’s original plan changed when he was forced to skip the Prague Pro to continue his rehab.
Michal Krizo Talks 2024 Prague Pro Results
Michal Krizo was not in Prague to compete or as a spectator. He wanted to watch it on the livestream instead. As a fan of bodybuilding, Krizo believes that the judges got it right.
“I wasn’t there for either the semifinals or the finals, I didn’t see it live. I was so tired, I paid for the livestream to watch it from the hotel and I don’t know, I think the outcome was good. I said from the start, Open is Open and Fitzwater should win, which was the case.”

Many have spoken about the results and pointed out the differences between Open and Classic. Bumstead has won the Classic Physique Olympia title six years in a row. He wanted to accomplish his goal of competing in Open but there is a different criteria for competitors.
“Even though many people disagreed and many people wished that Bumstead would qualify for Mr. Olympia but I can’t help myself. I don’t see Bumstead as an Open bodybuilder. There was a lineup of people here at EVLS but if he went to the Olympia, you could see the difference between Classic and Open.”
