In June, Krizo announced that he suffered a shoulder injury and would not pursue qualification for the 2024 Olympia. He provided an update in July that he scheduled surgery for Aug. 19, which was a success. During his latest announcement, Krizo shared his plan to compete at the EVLS Prague Pro later in the year but has walked back that notion.

Krizo has been working to make improvements since his appearance at the 2023 Olympia, where he made a jump in his second competition. He appeared at the 2024 Empro Classic Pro looking to punch his ticket to this year’s event. He finished third in Men’s Open behind winner William Bonac and Behrooz Tabani.

Michal Krizo Has Sights Set On 2025 Return

AJ Robert Kelly shared a statement on Monday after speaking to Michal Krizo. It was revealed that he suffered two torn tendons and they had been that way for over a year. The surgery was successful but Krizo will be out of the gym for 8-12 weeks. This would make it difficult to compete during the Prague Pro so the new timeline is a return in 2025.

“He just had a SUCCESSFUL shoulder surgery. The doctor just found out that he had 2 TORN TENDONS for over a YEAR 👀. @ifbb_pro_michalkrizokrizanek will be out from the gym for about 8 -12 weeks , but is expected to have a FULL Recovery.”

Krizo made a jump into the Top 10 during the 2023 Olympia and could improve further in 2025. He has been one of the up-and-coming stars in Men’s Open since his arrival in the division. A full recovery is expected and Krizo will return to the gym in just over two months.

“Obviously the good news is that they fixed this problem NOW as if he had continued to train with 2 torn tendons,, it would have been a disaster. We are predicting a WAY improved @ifbb_pro_michalkrizokrizanek some time in 2025 as he has been restricted from training fully for a long time.”
