Nick Walker and Derek Lunsford are quickly becoming an intense rivalry in bodybuilding.
The rivalry between Derek Lunsford and Nick Walker seems to be heating up as we creep closer and closer to the 2025 Olympia. Lunsford recently made comments about this matchup. Walker heard his comments and responded quickly.
Lunsford believes that Walker brought his best to the 2025 Pittsburgh Pro but could not say the same for himself. The former Olympia champion ended up winning the show despite his self-proclaimed lackluster effort. He believe this gives him an edge during the Olympia but Walker was not buying it.

“The dude didn’t even sound convincing. He sounded like he was scared sh*tess that he knows what’s about to happen and he just had to come up with something. He just had to say something.”
Walker missed the 2023 Olympia as he dealt with a torn hamstring that impacted his preparation for the show. He ended up making his return during the New York Pro and was crowned champion, despite controversy surrounding the final results. He later announced that he would miss the 2024 Olympia as well. Now, his sights are set on the 2025 Olympia after winning his third New York Pro.
Nick Walker Responds to Derek Lunsford’s Comments
Walker finished as the runner-up to Lunsford in the Pittsburgh Pro. This was a controversial finish as many, including Walker himself, thought he did enough to be crowned champion. It has set the stage for a rematch at the Olympia.
“It’s not convincing. You ain’t f*cking fooling anyone brother.”
Pittsburgh featured one of the best lineups of the year thus far. Derek Lunsford believes his presence took the show up a notch, going as far to say Walker should “thank him.”
“He should be thanking me for doing that show, to be honest. He looked incredible, and for me, just to come off the Arnold win, being a two-time division Olympia champion, all that, just to stand next to each other, is hey that’s an opportunity I gave him.”
When Walker heard these remarks, he had his own response during a recent workout.
“I was thinking before I got here, you should thank me for giving you the opportunity to film with me. I’m going to start saying it to everybody now. You should thank me for giving you this opportunity to experience.”
The battle between Derek Lunsford and Nick Walker is now one to watch come the end of the year. Walker has been putting in all work to get healthy and bring his best physique to the stage in order to compete for the title.
