“I’m going to be stepping away from powerlifting. Powerlifting has been the biggest blessing in my life. I met a lot of people on the way and I wouldn’t be able to have this platform without powerlifting.”
Browner has always maintained a shredded physique while working as a powerlifter. He is often seen on social media moving upwards of 500kg in deadlifts while also sharing different workouts for fans to try.
Jamal Browner Explains Move To Bodybuilding
Jamal Browner’s move from powerlifting to bodybuilding does not mean he is done lifting heavy for good. He explained that this is a move based on incentives.
“I love lifting but competing right now is all over the place, especially with the federations changing and the new bars and everything that is going on. It is just too much and there is not enough incentive for me to continue to push for something that the majority is pushing for.”
There is a great history of insane strength in bodybuilding. Ronnie Coleman quickly became known for his raw strength and crazy workouts in the gym to prepare to be his best on stage. Many believe that Coleman, among other bodybuilders, could have made it in powerlifting. Browner already has a successful career in powerlifting and has his sights set on becoming the strongest bodybuilder in the world.
“I am going to be venturing into bodybuilding. The goal is to get my pro card and to be the strongest IFBB Pro ever. I am thinking it will be something fun. A new challenge and new goals.”
