Ronnie Coleman Weighs In On Who Is The True GOAT: Messi Or Ronaldo?

8-Time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman had an answer for the true GOAT on the field.

Ronnie Coleman has been able to interact with fans in many ways since his retirement from bodybuilding. The eight-time Olympia champ has created a successful YouTube page where fans can send questions in. Recently, Coleman released another rendition of his “Ask Me Anything” series and will discuss any topic. This time, Coleman weighed in on who is the true GOAT on the field — Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo?

During his career, Coleman totaled eight Olympia wins, which is tied for the most all-time with Lee Haney. He built a physique that was insanely muscular with great conditioning. The Men’s Open legend battled some other greats onstage, highlighted by his rivalry with Jay Cutler. Since retiring, Coleman has created a successful social media platform because of his combination of entertainment and interaction with fans.

Ronaldo has built the biggest following on Instagram with 595 million followers. Over the course of his career, Ronaldo has focused on recovery after games and workouts. This is how he has been able to remain in elite shape, along with a strict diet plan. He has shared many workouts and this continued recently with a dumbbell workout.

Ronnie Coleman Weighs In On The Age-Old Debate

The debate on the field between Messi and Ronaldo has been ongoing for years and years. Many fans around the world have their own opinion and even Ronnie Coleman has some thoughts. In typical Coleman fashion, he shared his opinion and used puns to explain.

“Since I’m not that messy, I’m going to go with Ronaldo. Cause you know why? Every now and then, I’ll see my name online and it’ll have Ronald and it kind of looks like Ronaldo. That’s another reason I like Ronaldo. It reminds me of me and like I said, ain’t nothing about me messy. So Ronaldo it is.”

Ronaldo made a name for himself at an early age in the Premier League. At 18, he joined Manchester Utd. and quickly became one of the best footballers in the world. He also played for Real Madrid and Juventus over the course of his career. Of course, this is in addition to being a standout internationally for Portugal. The five-time Ballon D’or winner recently joined Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr on yet another massive contract.

Messi also went pro at an extremely young age. He joined Barcelona at 17 years old and stayed for 17 years before moving onto Paris S-G. Messi is the all-time leader with seven Ballon D’or awards, which is two above second place Ronaldo. Last summer, Messi added another incredible achievement by leading Argentina to the FIFA World Cup championship. He is currently playing for MLS club Inter Miami FC for between $50-$60 million annually.

This debate will never truly be settled but it will be a topic of conversation for years to come around the world. All who follow sports have an opinion and bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman is no different.
