Samson Dauda is a fan of bodybuilding and “very, very curious” about how Chris Bumstead will perform at the Prague Pro!
Samson Dauda might have reached the pinnacle of bodybuilding but remains a big fan of the sport as a whole. So, when Chris Bumstead announced that he was doing an Open Bodybuilding show, the reigning Olympia champion was put on notice.
Dauda recently spoke about the upcoming EVLS Prague Pro and the lineup that Bumstead will face. He admits that he is “very curious” to see how it all plays out.
Dauda defeated both Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan, who were the last two Olympia champions, to win this year’s title. His rides to the top has been extremely quick and he wants to keep improving moving forward.
“We know, even as Mr. Olympia, we know we want to be better. We always want to be better. I want to keep improving my back. I want to keep improving my conditioning, I want to keep improving my structure.”
During this recent interview, Dauda went beyond his own performance into what he expects when Bumstead competes in the biggest division.
Samson Dauda “Very Curious” About Chris Bumstead’s Move
Chris Bumstead has teased the idea of doing an Open show before completely retiring from bodybuilding. After his victory at the 2024 Olympia, Bumstead announced his retirement from the sport but has decided to do one final show.
Dauda is one fan that wants to be present in the crowd to see what Bumstead brings.
“It’s a show that I’m thinking me and the whole bodybuilding world have been waiting to see and we’re excited to see what happens. I can’t wait.
I want to be able to watch that show front row and I want to experience and see what will happen because I’m very, very curious.”
Bumstead will go up against the likes of Martin Fitzwater and Shaun Clarida in Prague. Fitzwater made a huge jump into the top five during the Olympia and Dauda believes he will be tough to beat.
“CBum is a great competitor. Six times Mr. Olympia in Classic and at the same time, he’s going up against a very fierce Martin Fitzwater, who is number four in the world right now.
I saw Martin at the Olympia and I’ll tel, you, he’s one impressive bodybuilder and I don’t think his videos or even pictures do him justice on how good he is.”
Can Chris Bumstead defeat Fitzwater and the rest of the division to take home the title?
“I think it’ll be hard-pressed to say somebody is going to beat that. Martin is hungry, young, and he’s bringing something special to that stage.”
