Derek Lunsford looks insane during his most recent update ahead of the Olympia!
Men’s Open bodybuilder Derek Lunsford is preparing for the biggest competition of the year. Lunsford, who is a former Mr. Olympia, wants to win back his title and complete what he has dubbed the “bodybuilding trifecta.” Over the weekend, Lunsford shared his latest physique update nine weeks out.

Lunsford’s journey to the apex of bodybuilding is both remarkable and inspiring. He first captured the Olympia 212 title, then transitioned to the Men’s Open category, clinching the title on his second attempt. Significantly, he became the first athlete to secure titles in two different divisions, marking a historic moment in the competition’s legacy.
Lunsford entered the 2025 season with big plans and has reached them thus far. He won the first-ever Men’s Open Pittsburgh Pro title, which came after his victory in Columbus during the Arnold Classic. He now has his sights set on the Olympia to complete the trifecta. If he is able to win the Olympia, Lunsford would be the second bodybuilder to ever lose a title and win it back — joining Jay Cutler.

Derek Lunsford Shares Most Recent Physique Update
Lunsford did not share his current bodyweight but teased that fans would be surprised. This update came in the morning before he hits another day of work with Chris Aceto.
“Morning Check-In
If I told you my weight… you wouldn’t even believe me. Lol 😆
9 weeks out”
The rivalry between Lunsford and Nick Walker has heated up in recent weeks. Lunsford, who defeated Walker in Pittsburgh, believes that Walker brought his best to the stage in Pittsburgh but could not say the same for himself. The former Olympia champion ended up winning the show despite his self-proclaimed lackluster effort. He believe this gives him an edge during the Olympia but Walker was not buying it.
The battle between Derek Lunsford and Nick Walker is now one to watch come the end of the year. Walker has been putting in all work to get healthy and bring his best physique to the stage in order to compete for the title. By the looks of updates from both competitors, it will be an intense battle along with the other studs in the division.
