Choopan was victorious after many years during the 2022 Olympia and considered the favorite once again back in November 2023. As the competition went on, it was clear that it was going to be a battle between Choopan and Derek Lunsford. Once the final came around, the judges opted for Lunsford as the 2023 Mr. Olympia champion.

Choopan returned to the stage quickly and was victorious in Columbus during the 2024 Arnold Classic. He was able to defeat reigning champion Samson Dauda and the two faced off once again. Choopan was victorious once again during the 2024 Arnold Classic UK and solidified his position in Men’s Open.

Hadi Choopan Reportedly Coming To U.S.

Hadi Choopan has dealt with issues in the past when coming to the U.S. but that is not the case in 2024. This was an issue in 2020. The Iranian bodybuilder arrived at the last minute to compete in the Olympia and placed fourth. Just two years ago, there were concerns that Choopan would not arrive on time but he made it to San Francisco in plenty of time and ended up winning his first title.

“Hadi Choopan spotted leaving Iran to head to the US (via Dubai) to get to work with Hany Rambod in the hopes of nabbing of Sandow #2.”

The Men’s Open division continues to be deep at the top but Lunsford and Choopan seemed to have separated themselves over the last two years. Many believe this will be the battle for the title once again and Choopan will meet up with Hany Rambod to continue prep.
